Maxio September 2026 Product Updates

Pricing models keep moving toward consumption. Credits, tokens, prepaid balances, minimum commitments, flat fees with overage on top, the shapes a modern contract can take have multiplied, and the systems that bill and track them have to keep up.

This month’s releases support that direction. More pricing flexibility for usage-based and hybrid models, clearer retention reporting, and smoother automation across payments, reporting, and integrations.

Here’s what shipped so far in September.

In this month’s update

  • Model flat fee plus overage in a single product with Hybrid Pricing
  • Enforce minimum commitments natively on usage-based contracts
  • Track retention trends, GRR, and NRR directly in Maxio
  • Add Google Pay and in-portal ACH setup for customers
  • Standardize reporting and streamline exports across the business

Tokenization and Monetization

More flexibility for modern pricing models.

Hybrid Pricing for products

Charging a flat fee plus overage has usually meant building two separate products and stitching the billing together after the fact. Hybrid Pricing lets you configure the flat fee, included usage, and per-unit overage in a single product, so billing is calculated correctly the first time.

Minimum Commitment functionality

Enforcing minimum billing thresholds on usage-based contracts has always required some custom legwork, whether that’s API logic, workarounds, or manual reconciliation at billing time. Minimum Commitment brings that work natively into Advanced Billing. Set a minimum threshold at the subscription level, and Maxio automatically charges the difference when usage falls short, whether as a single line item, split evenly across components, or distributed proportionally.

More monetization flexibility is coming to Maxio

Prepaid balances, credits, and usage-based models can get complicated fast, but they don’t have to. Join us September 28 at 1:00 PM ET for Monetization Done Right: Price It. Track It. Payments

More ways for customers to pay.

Google Pay comes to Maxio Payments

Google Pay is now available across Advanced Billing and Maxio Core for one-time and recurring transactions, with tokenized payments for a faster, more secure checkout.

Set up ACH directly in the billing portal

Customers can now add ACH details directly in the billing portal, the same way they’d add a credit card.

Analytics and Insights

See your real numbers, faster.

See and explain the Metrics Policy behind every report

Reports using a Metrics Policy now show the selected policy directly in the report view, making it easier to see which methodology was used. You can also generate a memo that documents how the metrics were calculated, giving you a ready-to-share explanation for leadership, investors, or due diligence.

Track win-backs in the Cohort Report

The Cohort Report now supports a win-back threshold. Customers who return after a defined period of inactivity are counted as a new cohort instead of skewing the original one.

View GRR, NRR, and more by quarter and year

Quarterly and yearly views now extend to GRR, NRR, logo churn, and other Subscription Momentum metrics. Track long-term retention trends directly in Maxio.

Developer Experience

Build on Maxio with less friction.

Get notified the moment a report completes

A new webhook fires as soon as a report finishes generating, so you can pull results automatically instead of polling the API for status.

One API token across Maxio Core and Advanced Billing

A single API token now authenticates across both Maxio Core and Advanced Billing for connected instances, replacing the separate credentials each platform required before.

CPQ

Manage large catalogs without the guesswork.

Filter, folder, and group SKUs in Revenue Operations

Revenue Operations now supports filters, folders, and grouping for SKUs. Teams managing large catalogs can navigate by type, status, or category instead of relying on exact search terms.

Subscription and Billing

Greater precision, fairer invoices.

Consistent handling of negative payment amounts

Negative amounts are now processed the same way across every importer, with clear validation and error messages when something doesn’t match.

Summary

September’s releases give modern pricing models more room to run and make your numbers easier to trust. Hybrid Pricing and Minimum Commitment handle flat-fee, overage, and usage-based contracts natively, standardized metrics mean every team reads from the same definitions, and Google Pay and in-portal ACH give customers more ways to pay. Less manual work between how you price and how you report, and more of it happening in one place.
